Licensing
According the Law on the Radiation Protection RPC is responsible for the licencing of the practises with the sources of ionizing radiation. It is prohibited to produce, operate, store, install, maintain, repair, recycle, transport and market sources of ionizing radiation and manage (collect, sort, treat, keep, recycle, transport, store and decontaminate) radioactive waste without a Licence issued by the Radiation Protection Centre. The License shall not be required only for the practices involving sources of ionizing radiation at exemption levels and for transportation and storage of generators of ionizing radiation.
 
The order of issuing, specifying the Licence to legal persons on practices with sources of ionising radiation, suspending, renewing or cancelling the validity of Licence; conditions of licensed activities and supervision of these conditions, the rights, duties and responsibilities of the Licensees is described in the Rules on licensing the practices with sources of ionising radiation approved by the Decree No 653 of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania on 25 May 1999 (Edit by Decree No. 205 of Government of the Republic of Lithuania on 23 of February 2004).
 
 
Foreign country legal person from European Society willing to perform Onetime service which can be treated as one of licensed activities, shall to inform about that RPC before 30 days and to present valid License for such kind of service, issued in home country of legal person from European Society. After examination of received documents Radiation Protection Center has to make decision on issuing of Onetime Permission to execute services which falls under The Rules of Licensing and in 10 days must inform the applicant about that in written. The form of Notification on Onetime service and form of Onetime Permission it is approved.
 
State fee for licensing (from 2011-07-01):
Issuing of License – 499 Litas.
  • Issuing of duplicated of License – 69 Litas.
  • Correction of data in the License – 69 Litas.
