International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is one of the most important cooperation partners of RSC. RSC takes part in implementation of regional and national projects, provides information, hosts fellows directed by the IAEA, works with IAEA experts. RSC is participating in the activities of IAEA Radiation Safety Standards Committee. Together with IAEA RSC is organizing regional and national trainings for Lithuanian and foreign specialists in various fields of radiation protection issues.
United Nations Scientific Committee on Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR)
Information on exposure of Lithuanian population is provided to the UNSCEAR. This information is used in UNSCEAR publications.
United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE)
RSC takes part in work of Group of Experts on Monitoring of Radioactively Contaminated Scrap Metal of the UNECE.
International Radiation Protection Association (IRPA)
IRPA is the international professional association for radiation protection. It promotes excellence in the practice of radiation protection through national and regional Associate Societies and radiation protection professionals by providing benchmarks of good practice and enhancing professional competence and networking. It promotes the application of the highest standards of professional conduct, skills and knowledge for the benefit of individual and society. RSC participates in various IRPA events.
Regional European and Central Asian ALARA Network (RECAN)
During RECAN meetings the members are discussing on issues of optimizing radiation protection in Member States, as well as radiation protection training as the key measure to ensure optimization of radiation protection, and further education, training and qualification improvement of radia¬tion protection specialists. RSC actively involved in RECAN activities.
Council of Baltic Sea States (CBSS)
RSC is participating in the activities of CBSS Expert Group on Nuclear and Radiation Safety. Radiation and nuclear safety specialists of the Baltic Sea States region discuss the above problems in the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Group of Experts of the Council of the Baltic Sea States. This Group of Experts works on preparedness to nuclear and radiological accidents, on coordination of joint activities and measures in various radiation and nuclear safety areas, and discusses other radiation and nuclear safety issues.
