International Atomic Energy Agency (
IAEA) is one of the most important cooperation partners of the Radiation Protection Centre. RPC takes part in implementation of regional and national projects, provides information, hosts fellows and visitors sent by the IAEA, works with IEAE experts.
The Central-Eastern European ALARA Network has been created in co-operation and with support of the IAEA.
Information on exposure of Lithuanian population is provided to the United Nations Scientific Committee on Effects of Atomic Radiation (
UNSCEAR). This information is used in UNSCEAR publications.
Radiation Protection Centre takes part in work of Group of Experts on Monitoring of Radioactively Contaminated Scrap Metal of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (
UN ECE).
Since 2000 the RPC participates in the activities of The Information System on Occupational Exposure (
ISOE). The ISOE is operated jointly with the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (
NEA) and is co-sponsored by the International Atomic Energy Agency (
IAEA) to involve countries which are not members of the NEA.
ESOREX 2005 survey started in 2004 and will continue the assessment of radiological data for the following 5 years and identify what administrative arrangements have been taken in order to comply with the new Basic Safety Standards Directive features on the operational protection of workers.
