Radiation Protection Centre is sharing its experience with the radiation protection professionals from the Republic of Azerbaijan

On 4th of November – 3rd of December five specialists (Emin Mansurov, Zaur Ahmedov, Ilham Sadigov, Akbar Guliev and Aysel Hasanov) from The State Agency on Nuclear and Radiological Activity Regulations of the Republic of Azerbaijan are visiting Radiation Protection Centre according to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) project (AZB9006 Supporting the Preparation of the National Radiological Emergency Plan (NREP).

On 6th of October of 2013 the Georgian officers visited Radiation Protection Centre. During the visit Radiation Protection Centre, facilities and equipment were presented.

Biological Dosimetry Laboratory was opened in Radiation Protection Centre

This year on 5th November biological dosimetry laboratory was opened in Radiation Protection Centre. Biological dosimetry studies will be helpful to evaluate biological effects induced by ionizing radiation, retrospectively determine the dose of ionizing radiation received and provide the necessary information to physicians treating the victims.

Radiation Protection Center is launching new activities - the biological dosimetry studies

This year on 5th November Radiation Protection Centre will open a biological dosimetry laboratory. On 23rd of October of 2013 new radiation protection compliance checklists were approved by order of director of the Radiation Protection Centre (RPC) No. V-68: “Due to checklists of demands of radiation protection compliance inspection and validation of form of inspection report-checklist and inspection report”.

Visit of Estonian Radiation Protection Specialists at Radiation Protection Centre

On 15th-16th of October 2013 personal dosimetry specialists of Radiation Monitoring Bureau of Radiation Safety Department of Environmental Board of Estonia visited Radiation protection centre.

Radiation Protection Supervision plans for 2013 fourth quarter are announced

Radiation Protection Centre (RSC) has approved State Radiation Protection Supervision plans for 2013 fourth quarter and made lists of planned inspections of licensed entities, conducting activities with ionising radiation sources. These lists can be found on the RSC website in the section of Planned inspections (in Lithuanian).

Radiation Protection Centre and Moldovan National nuclear and radiological activity regulation agency signed a Memorandum

On 17th September, during 57th General Conference organized by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna (Austria), the Radiation Protection Centre’s Director Albinas Mastauskas and Moldovan National nuclear and radiological activity regulation agency’s Director Artur Buzdugan signed a memorandum in which they agreed to cooperate in the field of radiation protection.
