General information
According the Law on the Radiation Protection and the Statute of Radiation Protection Centre RPC carries out the radiation protection state supervision and control (hereinafter – inspections) that ensures the proper implementation of the tasks assigned to RPC warranting occupational and public radiation protection.

The order of managing and organizing of state control and supervision of radiation protection is determined in the Regulations on Radiation Protection State Supervision and Control. The periodicity and types, planning and executing of inspections in this document is described. The detail inspection procedures are determined in the Manual on Inspections.

Main task of the radiation protection state supervision and control is to organize and to perform the inspections of legal and natural person, enterprises, conducting activities with sources of ionizing radiation, and to estimate how they follow the requirements laid down in the legal documents on radiation protection. If during the inspections it is identified that the requirements of legal documents on radiation protection are not realized, appropriate administrative measures (practice suspended, notices issued, fines imposed) should bee enforced.

• Order No. V-1271/22.3-137 “On Regulations on the Import, Export, Transit and Transportation of Radioactive Materials, Radioactive Waste and Spent Nuclear Fuel” (adopted on 24 December 2008).

Orders of the Minister of health:

• Hygiene Standard HN 31:2008 “Radiation Protection and Safety in Medicine X-rays Diagnostic Practice” adopted by the Order No. V-95 on 14 February 2008 by the Minister of Health Care. (Žin., 2008, Nr. 22-819).
• Order No. V-188 of Narch 14, 2008, of Minister of Health “ On approval of amendment to the order No. V-643 of December 17, 2002, “On approval of Lithuanian Hygiene Norm HN 87:2002 “Radiation protection in nuclear facilities”. (Žin., 2008, Nr. 35-1251).
• Order no. V-1279 of December 31, 2008, of Minister of Health „On approval of amendment to the order No. V-389 of July 17, 2001, „On approval of Lithuanian Hygiene Norm HN 112:2001 „Requirements for monitoring f internal exposure“ (Žin., 2009, Nr. 4-109).

Orders of Director of the Radiation Protection Centre:

• Order No. 73 of November 7, 2008, „On approval of requirements for recognition of certificate of compliance of transportation package for radioactive materials and radioactive waste“(Žin., 2008, Nr. 135-5295).

• Order No. 84 of December 30, 2008, „On approval of referente levels in x-ray diagnostic (Žin., 2009, Nr. 1-19).
