Radiation Protection Center hosts nuclear and radiation safety specialist from Republic of Armenia

     Mr. Vahagn Petrosyan representing Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center, which is Technical Support Organization (TSO) of the Armenian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (ANRA), started his International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) awarded Fellowship at the Radiation Protection Center (RPC) on the 20th of February 2017.

 

     With the accordance to developed personal training program, Armenian radiation safety specialist has deepened his knowledge on radiological investigations including food, building materials, soil and other consumer products sampling procedures. He was also introduced to the current Lithuanian legislation on radiological monitoring of the environment, food, drinking water, building materials and others as well as to the fields of RPC accreditation for ISO 17025 and radiological investigations quality control system installed in RPC. Mr. Vahagn Petrosyan got hands-on-training in using stationary and portable equipment for radiological measurements available in RPC. Further Mr. V. Petrosyan will have a site visits to the Radiology division of the Environmental Research Department under the Environmental Protection Agency with the scope to get acquainted with the investigations being conducted and the equipment used there.

 

    It is expected, that completing the Fellowship in RPC Mr. V. Petrosyan will be able to implement radiological investigations in the Republic of Armenia.
